Is traveling a hobby?
Absolutely!
And traveling also has many benefits that I’ll discuss later in this article.
Speaking for myself I consider travel a hobby and have turned it into a fun way of life.
I have a map of the world and place pins in all the places I have been to so far.
Every year I make a list of destinations I want to travel to before the year is over.
Unfortunately, I don’t always make it to all of the places I’d like to visit but it’s still fun to try.
With that being said let’s discuss travel as a hobby a little bit more.

Benefits Of Traveling As A Hobby
I love to travel because it gives me an outlet to unwind and refresh.
Working a stressful job and living life as normal can be boring and make you feel like you’re in a rut.
And you just might feel yourself regroup after a short or long vacation that can come with memories to last you a lifetime.
With that being said below is a list of some of the benefits of traveling as a hobby:
#1. Travel Can Improve Your Mood
Do you need a break from your job or feel you just need to get away?
Traveling is the perfect solution and it doesn’t have to be expensive or take away from your vacation time.
Simply traveling away from home even just 20 – 30 miles for the weekend can be enough to get you away from your daily life and come back in an improved mood.

#2. Travel Can Help Your Refresh And Reenergize
I hadn’t taken a decent vacation in many years.
My life at the time consisted of going to college and working.
It was taking a toll on me emotionally and I was feeling drained of energy.
I couldn’t afford an international trip but I knew I needed to take a break from what I was doing.
After some careful planning, I decided to take a week off after classes were over and head out to a friend’s place located in L.A.
During that week I spent it learning how to surf, playing volleyball, and drinking at the local bars.
By the time Friday rolled around I was feeling much more relaxed and my energy level was much higher.
Even though the vacation was only a week the result benefited me for many months.
#3. Travel Can Give You Stress Relief
Probably one of the most obvious benefits of travel is that it can help you feel less stressed as well as reduce feelings of anxiety.
If you have a job or lifestyle that is very demanding travel can be the solution.

#4. Travel Gives You Appreciation About Where You Live
If you live in an area that you’re not proud of or makes you feel lonely because it doesn’t have a lot to do for entertainment you may need to travel more.
Experiencing other parts of the country as well as people and the way they live can give you a better appreciation of where you live.
For example, when I went on a road trip across America I discovered many cities along the way some of them I really admired and others were dumpy and even felt dangerous.
By the time I arrived home I didn’t take my city for granted anyone I was happy to be home.

After a while, you can hit a block in your creativity.
It’s normal because everyone needs a vacation from time to time.
Traveling can benefit you in becoming more creative.
When I am out and about or on vacation I think of additional things I can do such as a t-shirt with a cleaver saying or an interesting design or logo that can spark up my creativity.
By the time I’m back from my travels I’m feeling much more able to think of productive and creative ways to enjoy as a hobby or job.
